As we all know that Google Panda is one of the major Google Algorithms. This algorithm is continuously targeting on-page SEO structures. According to this algorithm, it’s very-very important to write high-quality and relevant content on your site to make it search engine and user friendly. Search engines love to promote informative sites which are really serving something good to their visitors. Every webmaster wants to save his site from this algorithm and whenever an update happens to this algorithm we are afraid of what this update will do with our site. Last month Google’s search spam head Mr. Matt announced a roll-out in Google Panda. Everybody wants to know what that roll-out was that’s why I decided to write about it in detail so that my fellow webmasters can be aware of this, so let’s get started.
Tip: In 2011, when Panda first rolled out, many large content farms like eHow, About.com and Examiner lost 30-80% of their organic traffic overnight due to thin or low-quality content. Small niche websites with strong content quality actually benefited.
Point 1
Let’s start with point 1 ha! Well, it’s obvious. According to Google and other major search engines, a site with a specific topic always ranks higher than a site with multiple niches. If you’re in the internet marketing industry then I hope you’re very much aware of article directories. Maybe you already noticed this thing that articles available in any authority site (article directory) do not have a good position in SERP. It’s just because these article directories have multiple niches available and they are not writing informative articles. But if a specific niche blog writes something, that post always ranks higher. It simply means that Google and other major search engines prefer specific niche websites. The same thing happened last month (May/2014). A boost has been given to such specific niche websites and this is the first thing that happened in this update.
Tip: A well-known case study is Backlinko, which only publishes SEO-focused content. Despite having fewer posts, it ranks extremely high and generates millions of visits yearly because of niche specialization. Meanwhile, multi-topic blogs often struggle to rank.
Point 2
Matt clearly mentioned that it’s not important that you’re sharing your content or not but the important thing is who else is sharing your content. If other users are sharing your content then your site’s ranking will definitely get a boost in its ranking.
Tip: BuzzSumo research shows that articles shared by influencers or trusted sources get 22% higher ranking visibility than those shared only by the owner. For example, when Neil Patel shared a startup’s SEO guide, the site went from 300 visits/day to 3,000 within a week.
Point 3
I came across many webmasters and bloggers spinning content and publishing it on their own websites as well as on other websites. Matt also clearly mentioned that spun or poorly written content will not get any position in search results. It’s very important to write high-quality content with proper information in it. Your content quality must be mature and your articles must be human readable. Uninformative articles will not be acceptable to serve in search results. So try producing high-quality and genuine content.
Tip: A case study from Search Engine Journal showed that a blog that replaced spun articles with 1,500-word researched articles saw a 250% increase in search traffic within 60 days. On the other hand, sites that continued spinning content eventually lost indexing.
Conclusion
Focus only on quality. It’s only the quality of your site and SEO which can make you king in your industry.
Tip: Quality content is now Google’s top ranking factor according to multiple studies. Blogs that consistently publish well-researched, original content see up to a 434% increase in indexed pages and 97% more backlinks, outperforming low-effort competitors.
