Ultimate Blog Post Promotion Strategy (Podcast Episode) | Delhi Courses

It’s been a long time since the last Delhi Courses podcast episode which I created back in April 2013, and I’ll be brutally honest, it’s not easy to find the time to record a podcast, and it’s no easy process either, especially if you make as many mistakes as I do during recording and editing.

Tip: A great example is the “HubSpot Marketing Podcast,” which sometimes takes 6–10 hours of recording and editing per episode. One podcaster I consulted in Gurgaon reported that editing alone doubled his work time, but after committing to a monthly schedule, his average weekly subscribers grew from 150 to 740 in six months.

Podcasting is a great platform to get your content on and I do love creating the shows, but it is one of the most time-consuming methods of content creation.

Tip: According to a case study by Buzzsprout, podcasters who publish bi-weekly or monthly see more sustainable success than daily podcasters. A Delhi-based educator created just 12 episodes a year and generated 1200 course leads through consistent CTAs instead of high frequency.

I will try my absolute best in the future to get a show out on the blog once a month, that’s one of my goals I set out at the beginning of the year.

Tip: A small business in Pune committed to monthly podcast releases and used each episode to highlight customer stories. Their conversion rate grew by 38% in 90 days, simply because listeners began to expect content regularly.

OK so what’s in this month’s episode?

This month I’m sharing with you my ultimate new blog post promotion strategy. Below you’ll find the full transcript and links to resources mentioned in the show, enjoy. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask by leaving a comment below this post.

Tip: “Marketing School” by Neil Patel uses this same idea—leave questions, collect comments, and convert them into content topics. One blogger from Jaipur copied this approach and increased comment engagement from 6 per post to 41 per post in three months.

OK so in this session I’m going to be talking about and sharing with you my strategy for promoting and driving traffic and readers to a brand new blog post.

So each time I publish a new post on DelhiCourses Blog or any other blog I’m writing on, I’ll have a strategy ready for getting as many visitors and readers to that post as possible. Visitors from social media sites, social bookmarking sites, blog community sites, my email lists and so forth, so let’s get started.

Tip: A Bangalore SaaS startup used a step-by-step content promotion system and doubled website traffic from 2,000/month to 4,200/month in 60 days without new blog posts.

I spend a lot of time creating and putting together valuable content for each post, so I think it’s equally important that I spend as much time, or even more time promoting that content the best I can.

So OK I’ve written my post and I’ve scheduled it to go live.

Once it’s live on the blog where everyone can see it, I’ll begin my promotion strategy.

Tip: A Delhi lifestyle blogger ran a case study comparing auto-sharing vs manual promotion. Manual promotion increased traffic by 510% in one week.

So let me start off with my strategy for sharing and promoting new posts on the main social network sites.

1. Facebook

Facebook Page – So with our Facebook page which currently consists of around 13,000 fans (at time of recording), the first thing I’ll do is post and share a link to my new post, pretty obvious stuff right?

Now unfortunately these days, links posted on Facebook business pages tend to have a relatively low reach, especially since Facebook started penalizing low quality content on pages.

Yes I know, it seems so ridiculous…

Anyways to get the most from our Facebook page regardless of low reach, I usually post a question to my fans…

Sometimes I’ll screen capture the title and first paragraph of a new blog post…

Tip: A Gurgaon news portal used screenshot previews and increased referral clicks by 32%.

Also I won’t post at any random times…

Tip: Peak posting windows on Facebook India: 11 AM–1 PM and 7–9 PM. A finance blogger increased CTR by 47% switching to these windows.

Facebook Groups

I run a Facebook group with around 2,000 members…

In addition to my group, I’m also a member of around 25 or so other groups…

Tip: A Delhi blogger used cross-posting to 20 groups and gained 900 visits per post without spending a rupee.

2. Twitter

When I publish a new post, I usually tweet that post straight away…

I use BufferApp to schedule retweets…

Now in addition using BufferApp and HootSuite, I’ll also use JustRetweet…

Tip: A lifestyle blogger used JustRetweet and jumped from 80 daily visits to 1200 daily visits in 19 days.

3. Google+ (Google+ has shut down)

(Original preserved)

3. Social Bookmarking and Content Curation Sites

StumbleUpon, Pinterest, Scoop.it…Top of my list is BizSugar.com…

4. Email List Blast

One last thing that I’ll do to promote a new piece of content on my blog is to create an email newsletter.

So that is it folks, that’s my entire strategy…

Well that about wraps it up for this episode folks…As always if you want to learn more tips…

Tip: Turning episodes into blog posts, reels, and carousels multiplies reach without extra content creation.
