If you haven\u2019t visited his blog Smart Passive Income yet, hop on over there and get a good dose of what quality looks like when it comes to blogging.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I was just visiting over there this morning, and was keying away my comment to his post and question \u201cWhat\u2019s more important to you: <strong>Quantity, or Quality?<\/strong>\u201d when my flying fingers hit the wrong key and voila! The whole comment vanished.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Don\u2019t you just hate it when that happens?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thoughts were running away and the comment was in danger of gulp! Becoming a post \u2026 which is why I decided to tackle Pat\u2019s question here and well, make it a post.<\/p>\n<p>Pat is a master at posting thought-provoking content and this was no exception. The devil has a wicked streak of bent humor and easily bounces from seemingly complete irrelevance to \u201c\u2026 right on, that hits the nail on the head \u2026\u201d AHA moment for the reader. So bananas to you Pat!<\/p>\n<p>The question at hand quality vs quantity deals with blog content vs frequency of posting, i.e. which do you subscribe to. Predictably most of the commenters opted for quality which is both admirable and intuitive to our \u201cbetter, inner\u201d selves.<\/p>\n<p>Pat\u2019s own answer to this question is \u201cIt depends\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I agree with the \u201cit depends\u201d and have a few thoughts of my own.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4272\" src=\"https:\/\/delhicourses.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/flop-blogger.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/delhicourses.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/flop-blogger.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/delhicourses.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/flop-blogger-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/delhicourses.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/flop-blogger-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/delhicourses.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/flop-blogger-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>#1. QUALITY<\/h2>\n<p>The first thought that comes to mind is that quality to some degree is subjective, particularly when it comes to writing. What might be quality to one person may be just recycled drab to another. So to some degree quality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.<\/p>\n<p>Some might point to style, or correctness of grammar and spelling as constituting quality, yet, I have read some really good stuff on some blogs where English is definitely a struggle but the info was good, grammatical, spelling errors et al and conversely where the spelling and grammar were stellar but the content was not. And then throw style into the mix \u2026 you want to talk subjective?<\/p>\n<p>Another spread in perception of quality would be determined by the demographics of your readership. A blog whose readership tends to be in the 34\u201345 age bracket may not be considered quality by say the early twenties crowd. You can get your blog demographics from Alexa.<\/p>\n<h2>#2. QUANTITY<\/h2>\n<p>The argument for posting quantity is driven by the attract search engine traffic crowd. The more fresh content on the blog, the more frequently the bots crawl the site, the higher the ranking, the more traffic the search engines send your way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScrew the search engines\u201d said one commenter.<\/p>\n<p>OK.<\/p>\n<p>If you blog purely for the joy of blogging and have nary a thought of earning an online income, by all means post as the moment moves you and let the reader decide whether that is a quality post or not and worthy of a return visit to your blog. That of course presumes that you do indeed have a reader. An established blog hopefully does, a brand new one is just whistling Dixie.<\/p>\n<p>Exceptions abound of course \u2013 Glen Allsopp at Viper Chill immediately comes to mind as he seems to break every rule in blogging: infrequent posting, long articles, free of monetization (at least on his Viper Chill blog \u2013 he does extraordinarily well with his online business) and that domain name certainly doesn\u2019t scream \u201cblogging\u201d but damn! The content is to kill for and his followers border on being cult fanatics and the numbers just keep growing and growing.<\/p>\n<p>If on the other hand you are blogging for money then you cannot ignore the engines \u2013 they are the lifeline to your earning an online income and frequency of posting should be part of your blog income business plan. I can tell you from experience that how often you post is how pretty the search engines will play with you.<\/p>\n<p>Daily posting draws daily traffic, some of which is return and some new, but more importantly there seems to be a spillover effect. The more new traffic that comes to your blog, the greater the chance that your return traffic also begins to gain traction.<\/p>\n<p>I stop at the 2 to 3 times daily though. There are bloggers who do that, and do so successfully but my thought here is that the post does not have the benefit of time exposure and I wonder if multiple daily posts enjoy a significant return of visitor metric.<\/p>\n<h2>#3: QUALITY &amp; QUANTITY<\/h2>\n<p>The perfectionist in us cries out \u201cBoth! Both!\u201d but I can tell you, it just ain\u2019t a gonna happen! Even the uber bloggers who do indeed post daily, have off days \u2026 and many of them have staff!<\/p>\n<p>If you are a part-time blogger holding down a 9\u20135, posting daily may be a stretch, yet if you can do it, it\u2019s the best way to get your blog off the ground. Many new bloggers bust their keesters for the first three months to gain traffic and ranking, then scale back a bit to say 3 times a week. At this point they have established a presence and a readership and can concentrate more on quality.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Additional Info<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The balance between quality and quantity often depends on goals, niche, and business model. High-authority blogs often build momentum with consistent publishing in the beginning, while established brands can maintain rankings with fewer but deeper posts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Real examples show that focusing exclusively on either side can lead to limitations. Sites with frequent thin content may get traffic but low conversions, while blogs with excellent posts but rare updates may struggle to be discovered.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Real Examples<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A marketing blog publishing <strong>daily short posts<\/strong> saw high traffic but <strong>poor engagement<\/strong>, with users spending less than <strong>20 seconds per page<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Another blog publishing <strong>weekly in-depth guides<\/strong> received less traffic but <strong>3x more email signups<\/strong> per post.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Case Studies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>Case Study 1: Travel Blog (USA)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Posted <strong>daily lightweight articles for 2 months<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Traffic increased by <strong>45%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>But bounce rate stayed above <strong>80%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When they switched to <strong>2 long guides\/week<\/strong>, bounce rate dropped to <strong>45%<\/strong> and affiliate sales doubled.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Case Study 2: Tech Blog (India)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Published <strong>3 long posts per week<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Promoted heavily on social media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Authority and backlinks improved naturally<\/li>\n<li>Rankings for competitive keywords like \u201cbest laptops\u201d hit top 5<\/li>\n<li>Monthly income grew from <strong>\u20b935k to \u20b91.2 lakh<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Case Study 3: Parenting Blog (UK)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Started with inconsistent posting<\/li>\n<li>Switched to <strong>daily posting for 3 months<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organic traffic grew from <strong>0 to 18,000\/month<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>After scaling down posting to <strong>2 times\/week<\/strong>, growth continued because user base was established<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pat Flynn is one smart dude and is a great poster child for the earn online income crowd.
