Now this is important to remember, I am not talking about individual countries, where Google is already a minority, or majority. Google is already the world leader in terms of Search Engine power, and is by a very long way.
However Bing is beginning to become an imposing contender, or is it? It is slowly becoming a larger part of the search engine world. It is nowhere near becoming a real competitor to Google, but they are trying to make their mark as soon as the possibly can. The problem that they now have is that Google has become so heavily established in the household that it is difficult for a new search engine to muscle its way in.
When you ask someone to find something on the internet do you say to them to go check it out in the “Search Engine”? No you don’t, you tell them to Google it. Google has established itself in such high regard that it will be difficult for any real competitors to step in.
However how could this possibly swing into another search engines favour, like Bing? Well it all comes down to how Google carry on progressing. If Google begin to make mistakes, then they are likely to force themselves out of the game. Google hasn’t exactly been a great friend of SEO’s or the public with some of the natural results that are being thrown up.
Google is taking what appears to be a much more paid driven route which in turn could very well be there undoing, and in essence destroy their reputation. If they damage the organic results further, it is more than likely that even regular users will become unhappy with the way in which Google is conducting itself.
